Custom made by Palestinian-American designer Jalnar Dhanani for So Gold Studios, this Nijmeh Cluster houses a stunning checkerboard cut Grape Garnet with three free-movement ball dangles. Perfect across the ear in a lobe, helix, or flat piercing! This piece is 16 gauge threaded. Hypoallergenic, nickel-free 14K gold, made for wear in piercings. 

All jewelry handmade by Jalnar utilizes repurposed metal and responsibly sourced or post-consumer gems and diamonds wherever possible, always striving towards better practices and more transparency with her materials.

Gemstone Information

Garnets are a group of silicate based gemstones of different mineral compositions, but with similar structures. They are most often known for a warm orange-red color but can vary across greens, pinks, and even blues. Different shades of garnets are known as species, such as rhodolite and Almandine, and some garnet colors are combinations of multiple species.

Grape garnets have a striking warm purple color. Grape Garnet is a unique pyrope-almandine member of the garnet family and is quite rare. This rare purple-red garnet is mined only in the State of Odisha on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India. Mining of the alluvial deposit is done by hand using small tools like picks and shovels.

Garnets are 6.5-7.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness.
