One of the stones with the most varieties in color, tourmaline ranges from a deep blue, to a vibrant raspberry pink, to an olive-toned green and many shades in between. Compositionally, it is a boron silicate mineral compounded with elements such as aluminium, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium.

Tourmaline is traditionally one of the birthstones for October, alongside Opal.
